Real Madrid survive RB Leipzig scare to qualify for the quarterfinals of the 2023/24 Champions League with a 2-1 aggregate victory over.

It ended barren at the break with Real Madrid outclassed by a determined RB Leipzig side who needed just a more clinical finishing to kill the game.
It was a similar temper in the second half with RB Leipzig still on the ascendancy going forward.
Against the run of play, a brilliant combination play by Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Jr saw Real Madrid took an unlikely lead. Bellingham had teed up Vinicius Jr after a Real Madrid counter and the Brazilian made the chance count firing a thunderbolt into back of the net.
Two minutes after Real Madrid’s lead, RB Leipzig clawed their way back into the game with a lightning response. Orban headed home a side cross from Raum to draw the game level.
Leipzig recorded other big chances in the remaining minutes of the game but failed to make them count as Real Madrid held on to progress to the next round of the competition with a 2-1 aggregate victory.
