England may likely lose Harry Kane ahead of their double-header international friendlies in the March international window
The prolific goalscorer, who has proven unstoppable going on a stormy ride in his Bundesliga debut, handed Bayern Munich and England national team a freak of an injury scare when he came colliding against the woodwork in the 5-2 win over Darmstadt in the Bundesliga.
Kane headed in Joshua Kimmich’s cross at the end of the first half to put Bayern 2-1 up after Jamal Musiala equalised and canceled out Tim Skarke’s opener for Darmstadt just before the half-hour mark. The England captain teed up Musiala for his goal, before helping Bayern to romp away in the second-half.
Kane’s goal was his 31st of the season, ensuring he broke Uwe Seeler’s record for the most in a debut campaign in the German top flight. Musiala scored his second of the afternoon when he ran onto Thomas Muller’s quick throw-in, cut inside, and fired a shot in via the keeper’s foot.
Serge Gnabry then added the fourth a few minutes after coming on, before Mathys Tel wrapped up the victory by scoring in the third minute of injury time. There was still time for Oscar Vilhelmsson to score a consolation for the hosts, though Bayern’s focus will now be on Kane’s injury.

The England all-time topscorer and Bayern Munich sensation came head-on with the goalpost after he attempted to follow up a narrow miss that pinched off the crossbar.
With eight minutes left to play, he had to be substituted off with fears he may miss a couple of games for the Bavarians, including England double-header international friendlies against Brazil and Belgium in March.
Bayern Munich are concerned Harry Kane, who has been called up by Gareth Southgate for the March international break, may end up aggravating the injury.
Addressing the grim injury blow, Bayern Munich’s sporting director insisted the club will not take risks on the player
“We hope it’s not that bad. It was a precautionary measure that he went out. Harry twisted his ankle and the area had to be cooled down. He won’t take any risks with the national team,” Freund said.
