Cristiano Ronaldo has promoted a shocking social media post which undermines 2023 Ballon d’Or award, LCSoccerHub Reports
Ronaldo’s eternal rival Lionel Messi fended off competition from Eling Haaland of Manchester City and Kylian Mbappe of PSG to win both 2023 Ballon d’Or and 2023 FIFA Best Men’s Player of The Year.
Cristiano Ronaldo, a seven-time Ballon d’Or winner and six-time FIFA Awards winner, was snubbed in the awards. Ronaldo did not make the nominees’ list and it was the first time he has missed out of the nominees’ list since he established himself as an icon of the sport.
It is believed his infamous transfer move to Al-Nassr in 2022 weighed heavily on his chances of winning any of the two award as winners have been only drawn from top European leagues since the inception of the award.
2023 was the only exception as Lionel Messi became the first player to win the award as MLS player away from the shores of Europe.
However, it is pertinent to note, Messi’s stats with PSG before moving to Inter Miami counted heavily on his emergence as the winner of the award.
While Ballon d’Or and FIFA snubbed Cristiano Ronaldo, the Globe Soccer Awards recognized the Portuguese star.
Ronaldo bagged a triple gong at the Globes Soccer Award – The Middle East Player of The Year, Fans Favorite Player Award, and the Maradona Award for emerging the world’s topscorer with 54 goals in 2023.

Speaking after the awards, Ronaldo blast Ballon d’Or and FIFA awards for recently lacking credibility as they fail to take stock of numbers and stats by individual players.
While maintaining he did not dispute Messi or Haaland winning the award, he added that he deserved the award based on his numbers.
Ronaldo’s Ballon d’Or and FIFA Awards comment has been met with backlash by some fans and analysts who blasted him for selfishly aiming a dig on the awards because he did not win them.
Despite the backlash, it appears the Al-Nassr star is not slowing down on his disapproval of the award.
A report shared by SPORTbible reveals Ronaldo has gone ahead to promote a social media post blasting the Ballon d’Or and FIFA Awards.
The Manchester United and Real Madrid legend reportedly contracted a popular social media page GOATnaldo Junction to promote a post which reads; ‘It hits different when it is earned.’
The caption has been seen as a dig on his arch-rival Lionel Messi, who he deemed did not deserve the award. It is also a swipe on the organizers of the awards for allegedly bastardizing the award.
