Andre Onana is reportedly considering quiting international football again after his 2023 AFCON deadlock, LCSoccerHub Reports.
Onana was the last African footballer to leave his club for AFCON after United were granted permission by Cameroon FA to play the goalie in two more matches before his AFCON linkup.
The 2023 Champions League finalist kept the sticks for United in a 2-2 draw against Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League before boarding a private jet to join Cameroon AFCON squad in Ivory Coast.
As per reports, Onana was hopeful of making Cameroon AFCON opener against Guinea but was dropped from the squad by Cameroon head coach Rigobert Song.
Former Senegal international Diop was spotted calming down a disgustled Onana who was fuming for not being included in Cameroon’s squad for the match against Guinea after making extra-ordinary effort to catch up with the team.
On why he dropped Onana in the AFCON opener, Rigobert Song maintained he could not include Onana in the squad as he had could not catch-up with the team’s preparatory training before the match.

After missing the opening match, Andre Onana started the second match against Senegal, and conceded 3 goals in a 3-1 loss to the Teranga Lions.
Failing to impress Song in the loss to Senegal, Onana was dropped the in the final group game against Gambia and the round of 16 clash against Nigeria.
The Manchester United goalkeeper played only one of Cameroon 4 AFCON matches and has flown back to Manchester United.
According to Daily Mail, Onana is reportedly considering retiring from international football again after the AFCON deadlock.
It will be the second time the 26-year-old has called it a quit on his international career after doing so in 2022 following 2022 World Cup deadlock.
Onana will be available for selection for Manchester United on Thursday, February 1 when the Red Devils take on Wolves in the Premier League.
