Senegal are flying high in their 2023 AFCON campaign as they set sights on defending the AFCON crown, LCSoccerHub Reports.
The Teranga Lions are the only team that have maintained a perfect start to their AFCON campaign, winning all their group matches.
The emerging powerhouses in African football got off the mark in the tournament defeating Gambia in their opening group game before comfortably dispatching Cameroon in their second game.
The National Elephants of Guinea were another heavy grindstone to test the depth of the reigning African champions in Group C.
Guinea went into the game sitting second in the Group with four points from two matches, having defeated Gambia and sharing spoils with Cameroon.
They needed a draw to book a place in the next round of the competition and a win to top the Group.
Senegal started the game on the front foot as expected and wielded a commanding presence. The National Elephants, on the other hand, left no stone unturned at the defense, drowning Senegal’s scissor-edged attack. Both sides went into the break goalless.
