Luton Town stunned Brighton & Hove Albion with a sensational 4-0 victory at Kenilworth Road on Tuesday, thanks to a hat-trick from Elijah Adebayo.
The Hatters wasted no time in putting the Seagulls under pressure, scoring two goals in the first three minutes of the game. Adebayo opened the scoring with a header from a Chiedozie Ogbene cross, before Ogbene doubled the lead after capitalizing on a mistake by Brighton goalkeeper Jason Steele.
Luton continued to dominate the game with their high-energy and intelligent pressing, and Adebayo added his second goal in the 42nd minute, latching onto a Ross Barkley pass and slotting it past Steele.

The 23-year-old striker completed his hat-trick in the 56th minute, heading home another Ogbene delivery to seal an emphatic win for the hosts. It was the first ever hat-trick scored by a Luton player in the Premier League.
The result lifted Luton out of the relegation zone and above Everton, who have a game in hand. Brighton, meanwhile, dropped to eighth place in the table, missing a chance to close the gap on the top four.
Luton manager Rob Edwards praised his team’s performance and hailed Adebayo as a “special talent”. Brighton boss Graham Potter admitted his side were “poor” and “second best” in every aspect of the game.
