Tuchel signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with Bayern Munich on March 2023 taking over from Julian Nagelsmann, who is the current Germany national team coach.
He won the Bundesliga title with the club last season two months after taking over the role.
This season, Tuchel is more likely to end the season without a silverware, having fallen 8 points behind Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga title race and trailing Lazio by a lone goal in the Champions League round 16 first-leg.
Bayern Munich’s decision to part ways with Tuchel followed the club’s consecutive Bundesliga defeats to title challengers Bayer Leverkusen and lowly-rated Bochum, including the Champions League loss to Lazio.
Tuchel is expected to continue on the reins as Bayern Munich manager until the end of the season when he will leave the club.
Bayer Leverkusen manager and former Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskaer has been linked to the soon-to-be-vacant role.
