Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly interested in signing Napoli striker Victor Osimhen as a potential replacement for Kylian Mbappe, who has decided to leave the club at the end of the season.
According to the
PSG have identified Osimhen as one of their main targets, along with other stars such as Warren Zaïre-Emery and Xavi Simons, who will also be offered new contracts.
Osimhen, who joined Napoli from Lille last year, has a release clause of around £112million in his contract, which runs until 2026. The 25-year-old Nigeria international has scored eight goals in 15 appearances for the Serie A side this season, following his impressive 2023/24 campaign, where he netted 18 times in 38 games.
PSG are facing a challenge to replace Mbappe, who has been their star player for the past few seasons. The 25-year-old France international has scored 30 goals in 31 games for the Ligue 1 champions this season, but has made it clear that he wants a new challenge elsewhere.

Chelsea are also keen on Osimhen, who is one of their top targets for the summer transfer window. The Blues are looking for a prolific goalscorer to boost their attack, as they have struggled to get the best out of their current options, such as Timo Werner and Tammy Abraham.
However, PSG have the financial advantage over Chelsea, who had to deal with financial fair play issues in January. With Mbappe’s wages off their books, PSG can afford to pay Osimhen’s hefty release clause and offer him a lucrative contract.
Osimhen would be a great addition to either PSG or Chelsea, as he is a lethal finisher, a strong aerial threat, and a hard-working forward. He has also proven himself in different leagues, such as France, Belgium, and Italy. He could be the next big thing in European football, if he makes the right move this summer.
