England women’s national team manager Sarina Wiegman has been crowned winner of the 2023 FIFA Best Women’s Coach of the Year Award, LCSoccerHub Reports.
The Dutch poses a prolific managerial profile in 2023 as England women’s national team head coach. Wiegman’s triumphant managerial journey started in 2022 Women’s Euros when she led the Three Lions to victory in the tournament.
It was the third time she had won the tournament, having clinched it with the Netherlands women’s national team in 2017 and 2022 before joining the England national team.
Wiegman transformed the face of women’s football in England, initiating a dynamic and exuberant playing style that saw England women dominate Europe with ease. She deployed the attacking, dynamic, and robust style of play which paved the way for English top talents to blossom and take their game to the next level.

The Lionesses hurled in a record 22 goals in 2022 Women Euros, conceding just two goals in what went down in history as their best campaign ever, thanks to the ingenuity and tactical prowess of Wiegman
The Lionesses are yet to lose a competitive match since Wiegman took over as manager in 2021. They have won 22 of their 26 matches.

Wiegman was tipped to clinch the award over her closest rivals Sonia Bompastor of Lyon and Pia Sundhage of Brazil.
It is the third time she has bagged the award and the only female football manager who has won the award more than once.
