Roy Hodgson has stepped down as Crystal Palace manager as the club announce Oliver Glasner as his successor.
In what has been a less-than-stellar run for the English football veteran, Hodgson leaves Crystal Palace 16th on the Premier League table following a recent dismal run.
Unlike last season when he overturned the club’s dwindling fortunes and kept them in the Premier League after taking over from Patrick Vieira, the benchmark this season has left much to be desired.
In 24 Premier League games this season, Crystal Palace have won only 6 games, drawing 6, and losing 12. They are 4 points above the relegation zone.
Roy Hodgson has stepped down from his post as first-team manager.
We thank Roy for his outstanding service, in which he managed 200 games across six seasons.

Roy Hodgson was linked to an exit from the club as Crystal Palace continued on their stuttering start to the season. Ahead of their Premier League clash against Everton at Goodison Park, reports emerged he collapsed in training session and had to be hospitalized with his assistant Paddy McCarthy taking over proceedings.
The club later confirmed he is in stable condition but plans to part ways with the 71-year-old was underway with Oliver Glasner, 49, set to succeed him.
On Monday, February 19, Hodgson confirmed his decision to step down as Crystal Palace manager after 12 months in charge of the club.
In a statement shared by the club, he said;
”This club is very special and means so much to me and has played a big part in my footballing life. I have fully enjoyed my time here across six seasons, as it has given me the chance to work with top-class players and staff doing what I love every day.
”However, I understand, given recent circumstances, it may be prudent at this time for the club to plan ahead, and therefore I have taken the decision to step aside so that the club can bring forward their plans for a new manager, as intended for this summer.”

An hour after Roy Hodgson stepped down, Crystal Palace announced Oliver Glasner, an Austrian football veteran, as his successor.
Glasner, who qualified Bundesliga outfits Wolfsburg and Eintracht Frankfurt for Champions, and also won the Europa League with Eintracht Frankfurt, will be expected to reverse Crystal Palace’s dwindling fortunes and help the club fight the drop to stay in the English elite division.
