The Spanish Super Cup final on Sunday will be a high-stakes affair for Real Madrid, as they stand to gain a huge reward if they beat their fierce rivals Barcelona.
The two giants of Spanish football qualified for the final, which will be held in Saudi Arabia, after winning their respective semi-finals against Atletico Madrid and Osasuna.
Real Madrid edged out Atletico Madrid 5-3 in a thrilling encounter that saw the crowd jeer every touch of the ball by Real’s star midfielder Toni Kroos.
Barcelona, on the other hand, cruised past Osasuna 2-0 with second-half goals from Robert Lewandowski and Lamine Yamal.
If Real Madrid can triumph over Barcelona in the final, they will receive a generous bonus from their president Florentino Perez.
As reported by Defensa Central via Football Espana, Perez has reached an agreement with the club’s senior players that they will each get a bonus of €150k (£129k) if they win, totalling €4 million (£3 million) for the whole squad and the coaching staff.

Real Madrid have already beaten Barcelona this season, thanks to a brilliant display by Jude Bellingham, who scored two amazing goals in a 2-1 win at the Camp Nou last October.
Ahead of the final, Barcelona’s coach Xavi praised Real Madrid as a ‘super-team’.
He said: “Real Madrid have improved from last year. They’re a super-team, but we’ll try to overpower them individually. We won’t make many changes, and we’re very motivated.
“(I believe we can win) because of our style of play, our philosophy, and our way of facing Real Madrid. We did it here last year and we did it in the Clasico earlier this season until the 60th minute.
“That’s the direction we have to follow, to take more control and more possession from them. We want to show our DNA more than ever. We’re extra motivated and it’s time to display our best game.”
