Mauricio Pochettino has revealed that he has spoken to Thiago Silva after the Chelsea defender’s wife called for him to be sacked on social media.
Belle Silva, who is an avid supporter of her husband and his team, tweeted her frustration after Chelsea’s 4-2 loss to Wolves on Sunday. She wrote: “It’s time to change. If you wait any longer it will be too late.”
Her tweet, which has since been deleted, sparked a lot of reactions from Chelsea fans and pundits, some of whom agreed with her and some of whom defended Pochettino.

The Chelsea manager, who is under pressure after a poor start to the season, said that he had a chat with Thiago Silva on Tuesday and that they have a good relationship.
“He [Thiago] came today to talk to me. I’m not going to talk about what we were talking but the most important thing is that he came and talked to me,” Pochettino said in his pre-match press conference ahead of Chelsea’s FA Cup fourth-round clash at Aston Villa.
Pressed about how his relationship with the 39-year-old was, he added: “It’s good. It’s very good. I think so. From the beginning, you can see my press conferences and how I talk about him.”
Pochettino also said that he trusts his players more than ever and that he is confident that they can turn things around. He admitted that the job was harder than he expected, but that he was still excited by the project.
“Of course, it’s always a tough job. But at the same time it is an exciting project and a project that we know is difficult,” he said.
