Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has confirmed Erling Haaland may not return to action with Manchester City soon, LCSoccerHub Reports.
Erling Haaland was expected to be fit for Premier League action this month after picking up a foot injury that has seen him miss eight matches for the club since December 2023.
As per the Mail, Manchester City’s medical department withdrew Erling Haaland from training, insisting he delay his return a bit longer before returning to action to aid his speedy recovery and also prevent an aggravated injury problem.
Meanwhile, Manchester City manager has expressed his disappointment with Haaland’s injury situation. Speaking ahead of City’s Premier League tie against Newcastle United, the two-time treble winner said Haaland’s injury ‘is a little more than the club expected’ and he ‘needs time’ for full recovery.
‘Hopefully, at the end of this month he’ll be ready,’ he said. ‘It was a little bit more than we expected. It’s a bone, it needs time. We’ve missed him.’
Erling Haaland’s injury blow is a big setback to Manchester City who are hoping to relaunch themselves into the Premier League title race after slacking in the past few weeks.
The Norwegian sensation led the park last season as the team mounted a formidable domestic and European campaign to end their wait for a Champions League crown and also rake in a treble into their trophy room.

Haaland scored a record 54 goals across all competitions to wrap up a prolific debut season with the club.
This season, the Norwegian is certainly set to fall below last season’s tally due to the injury setback. He has scored 14 goals in 15 Premier League matches with 4 assists. He has also recorded 5 goals in 5 Champions League matches for the club with one assist.
The 2023 Ballon d’Or runner-up will be hoping to return to top-level performance when he returns from injury next month.
