Juanma Latasa was the first Getafe player to be sent off after two yellow cards. Six minutes after Latasa’s red card, Rayo Vallecano made their numerical advantage count.
Camello scored in the stoppage-time of the first half to give the away side the lead.
Two minutes into the second half, Camello found the back of the net again to double the lead for the away side.
The game was obviously slipping off the control of the home side with tensions beginning to simmer between the players.
Three minutes after Camello’s second goal, Mason Greenwood bagged the first red card of his career following a bust-up with the center-referee.
Greenwood’s red card was controversial. He was handed marching orders by center-referee Figueroa Vasquez for allegedly using a swear word on the official
In his match report, Figueroa alleged Greenwood said ”f**k you,’ allegedly directing the swear word on him for not giving Getafe a free-kick after a challenge by Rayo Vallecano player.
“In the 50th minute the player (12) Greenwood, Mason Will John, was sent off for the following reason: For addressing me in a sign of protest and raising his arm, in the following terms: “F*** you”.
”Once sent off, he takes the finger to the temple making a repeated gesture as a sign of disagreement with the decision made.”
Greenwood has denied the allegations, insisting that he said “f***k sake” not “f***k you,” and did not aim the swear word on Vasquez.
Meanwhile, Spanish outlets report Greenwood could be banned from four La Liga matches if he is indicted.
