Manchester City have reportedly agreed a deal to sign Brazilian winger Savio from Girona, who are currently leading the La Liga table with the backing of the City Football Group.
Savio, 19, has been a revelation for the Spanish club this season, scoring 12 goals and providing 10 assists in 24 league games. He has been instrumental in Girona’s remarkable rise to the top of the Spanish league, ahead of giants like Real Madrid and Barcelona.
Savio is technically a Troyes player, having joined the French club in 2022 for a record fee of €25 million. However, he has never played for them, as he has been loaned out to Girona for the past two seasons. Troyes are also owned by the City Football Group, the holding company that controls Manchester City and several other clubs around the world.
According to the Manchester Evening News, Manchester City have been closely monitoring Savio’s progress and have decided to make a move for him in the summer transfer window. The deal is said to be worth around €40 million, which would make Savio one of the most expensive teenagers in football history.
Savio is seen as a potential successor to Raheem Sterling, who has been linked with a move away from the Etihad Stadium. Savio has a similar style of play to the England international, with pace, dribbling, and finishing skills. He can also play on either flank or as a second striker.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is known for his preference for young and versatile players, and Savio fits the bill perfectly. He is also expected to adapt well to the Premier League, as he has already shown his quality in a competitive and physical league like La Liga.
Savio is one of the most exciting talents in world football, and Manchester City fans will be eager to see him in action next season. He could be the next star to emerge from the City Football Group’s global network of clubs.
