A groundbreaking transfer saga may be loading as the January transfer window flings open, LC Soccer Hub Reports.
Prolific PSG and French forward Julian Mbappe is reportedly open to a move to Liverpool, as per French outlet Le Parisien.
The Real Madrid target is said to be considering a move to Liverpool as an alternative for his favorite club Real Madrid.
Recall Real Madrid have been on tenterhooks trying to sign Kylian Mbappe in the last three years. The La Liga and European giants first attempted a move for the player in 2021 but were dealt a heavy blow at the death as the youngster decided to stay put with PSG with a new lucrative three-year contract.
LC Soccer Hub understands PSG made several concessions financially and otherwise to keep Mbappe in 2021.
However, the tides have turned recently with the highly-rated forward bent on leaving Parc des Princes at the end of the season.
Mbappe attempted to push through a free exit from PSG but met the opposition of the club hierarchy, who insisted he must sign a new contract or be sold.
A contract standoff ensued between both parties but the waves of conflict has calmed although it appears Mbappe won the duel.
He has refused to sign a new contract with just six months remaining on his contract.
The January transfer window has opened and Mbappe will now be free to enter into contract talks with new clubs.
Real Madrid have been a long-time admirer of the player but have reportedly given him until this January to agree to a move to the club or they will go for Erling Haaland as an alternative.
Meanwhile, Eurosport and Le Parisien report Liverpool have emerged as a strong contender to rival Real Madrid for the services of Kylian Mbappe.
The report add Kylian Mbappe is open to a move to Liverpool as well in what could be a deep blow to Real Madrid.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp admitted his admiration for Kylian Mbappe last summer but added the club weren’t financially ready to push for the player.
It is still unclear whether the club will make a shock swoop for the player with his transfer value likely to go down since PSG won’t risk losing him on a free transfer at the end of the season.
