Manchester United defender Harry Maguire received the Man of the Match award from Gary Neville after his team beat Aston Villa 2-1 on Sunday. But Roy Keane was not impressed by Neville’s choice and made fun of him in the Sky Sports studio.
Keane, a former Man Utd captain, said Neville was biased towards defenders because he used to be one himself. He claimed that Maguire did not deserve the award and that Aston Villa had many opportunities to score.
Maguire, who missed the previous game due to Lisandro Martinez’s injury, partnered with Raphael Varane in the centre of defence. He also assisted Rasmus Hojlund, who opened the scoring for Man Utd. Neville praised Maguire’s performance and handed him the award.
But Keane disagreed and said: “He was alright today, nothing more. Some lads just give defenders Man of the Match because they know how hard it is – that type of scenario. It was always going to be a defender.”

Man Utd, who are managed by Erik ten Hag, won their third game in a row thanks to a late goal by Scott McTominay, who came off the bench. They will face Luton Town next Sunday and hope to continue their good form. Luton lost their last game and will be an easy prey for the Red Devils.
