Jadon Sancho is rewriting the narrative of his career as he sets off with a bang for Borussia Dortmund in his first match, LCSoccerHub Reports.
Coming on as a substitute in the six-pointer clash against Darmstadt, Sancho stole the spotlights with a brilliant and instant impact for Borussia Dortmund.
The Manchester City academy product replaced Bynoe-Gittens in the 55th minute and made it a magical first appearance for the away side in the 77th minute.
During a Borussia Dortmund offensive, the Man United loanee dragged out Darmstadt wing-backs running into the box from the half spaces with a pass from a teammate.
He then crossed into the box for an onrushing Marco Reus, who then volleyed home the ball pass Darmstadt goalkeeper to double the lead for the away side.
The game ended with Borussia Dortmund cruising to a deserved 3-0 win, thanks to Sancho’s goal contribution.
Speaking after his contribution to the team’s victory over Darmstadt, Sancho said his assist was meant to be and he hopes to replicate countless scenes of such performances for Dortmund.
“The assist was meant to be. I have happy to have contributed to the victory and happy returning to my game with a smile.
“I hope to maintain such great moments for the team as we push for Champions League slot in the Bundesliga.”
It is the second time Sancho has played for Borussia Dortmund after his previous spell with the club from 2017 to 2021.
He rejoined the club on a short-term loan deal from Manchester United following his faceoff with Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag.
It has been 140 days since the 23-year-old played football, hence making an instant for Dortmund on his return was a great way to resuscitate his dwindling career.
