It was a rollercoaster La Liga clash as Barcelona and Real Betis locked horns in La Liga Matchday 21 fixture, LCSoccerHub Reports.
Under-pressure Barcelona boss Xavi Hernandez went into the game on the back of dwindling La Liga fortunes for the Catalans and needed victory against the Andalusian club.
It was a tricky tie for Catalans. They had not won their last two away fixture against Andalusian clubs, drawing one and losing one but have won 9 of their 10 meetings against Real Betis.
The visitors got off the mark with a brilliant display racing into the lead before the break. Ferran Torres scored the opener for the Catalans, latching on Pedri’s cross to volley home the lead.
Three minutes into the second half, Ferran Torres was on target again to bag his brace and set the team en route to a needed victory against Betis.
Trailing by two goals, Real Betis clawed their charges back into the game with a quickfire double that turned things around. Former Real Madrid star Isco came up clutch for the home side, scoring a brace to peg back the defending champions to a 2-2 draw.
Isco scored his first goal firing home a poor clearance by Barcelona goalkeeper Pena to halve the deficit before chipping a cross from Henrique over the goalie to make it 2-2.
The game nearly ended in a draw as both sides struggled with minimal chances going forward. Atletico Madrid loanee Joao Felix reignited the spark late in the game. Felix came off the bench to race Barcelona into the lead again in the 90th minute before Ferran Torres wrapped up the victory, scoring his third goal to bag his hat-trick and hand the Catalans a 4-2 dramatic victory.
Barcelona are now third on the table with 44 points after 20 games, 7 points behind Real Madrid in second-place and 8 points behind league leaders Girona, who have played a game more.
