FT: Liverpool 5-2 Norwich, Reds QUALIFY For FA Cup Last 8 [VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS]

Liverpool have defeated Norwich in their first game after Jurgen Klopp’s big admission to book their slot in the FA Cup round 16, LCSoccerHub Reports.

The Merseyside club kicked off proceedings with a dominant display, holding Norwich to ransom throughout the game.

It wasn’t long before the host raced into the lead. Curtis Jones scored in the 16th minute to set the Reds en route to victory.

Surprisingly, Norwich defied the odds and clawed their charges back into the game. Gibson came up clutch for the away side, scoring a 22nd-minute goal to peg back Liverpool to a 1-1 draw.

Six minutes after Gibson’s equaliser, Norwich saw themselves trailing again as Darwin Nunez scored in the 28th minute to restore Liverpool’s lead.

A goal drought set in after the quickfire triple from both sides. Norwich closed up gaps at the back and Liverpool’s wastefulness in front of goal saw the two sides settle for the 2-1 scoreline at the break.

Liverpool continued with their dominant display in the second half. Diogo scored the Reds’ third goal in the 53rd minute to extend the lead.

Both sides made a series of substitutions to close up gaps and gain advantage. 10 minutes after Diogo Jota’s goal, Virgil van Dijk put the game beyond the second-tier side, scoring in the 63rd minute to make it 4-1.

Despite going 4-1 down, the visitors did not give up easily at Anfield. Sainz cut the goal arrears again for Norwich, scoring in the 69th minute to make it 4-2.

Both sides miss some clear-cut chances going forward with Liverpool still maintaining a superior attacking flair.

In the 5th minute of stoppage time, Gravenberch sealed the win with Liverpool’s 5th goal. The match ended with the Reds grabbing a deserved 5-2 victory to knockout Norwich from the FA Cup and book their ticket for the last 8 of the competition.
