Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has broken his silence on Jadon Sancho’s Man United exit, LCSoccerHub Reports.
We reported earlier that Jadon Sancho has completed a loan switch to his former club Borussia Dortmund. The English winger’s loan exit followed his bust-up with Erik ten Hag in September 2023.
Sancho became the third high-profile Manchester United player to fall under the sledgehammer of Erik ten Hag. Since taking over the dugout as Man United manager, Erik ten Hag hasn’t spared the hint when handling cases of indiscipline among players.
The Dutch ensured United legend Cristiano Ronaldo is axed out of Manchester United after the latter granted a bombshell interview, blasting him and the club.
Ten Hag also axed another club legend David de Gea for failing to meet his goalkeeping standards, replacing him with his choice goalkeeper Andre Onana.
After Sancho’s, social media rant blasting the Dutch for scapegoating him, it was evident he will join the list of United players leaving the club unceremoniously following fallouts with Erik ten Hag.
Before his Manchester United exit, Sancho had not tasted action with United for four months as he was axed off the team and demoted to the academy team. Ten Hag was reportedly ready to have Jadon Sancho back to the squad if he apologizes but it appears the 23-year-old wasn’t ready to blink, hence the decision to have him leave the club.
Erik ten Hag breaks silence after Jadon Sancho’s exit
Erik ten Hag appears to share no extreme emotions with Sancho despite his fallout with the player. Speaking after Sancho completed his loan move to Borussia Dortmund, ten Hag wished Sancho luck as he sets sail with Dortmund for a career restart.
”I hope he is doing well and I wish him the best of luck.,” he said.
Erik ten Hag had his first individual engagement with Jadon Sancho when the latter struggled with mental health issues in 2022. The Dutch was supportive, having the English star travel to the Netherlands for solo training before resettling him in the squad.
While the recent fallout has divided United fans over who is at fault, most believe Ten Hag had genuine intentions for Sancho and need not compromise his standards for the player.
