Diogo has been crowned winner of the Premier League Player of the Month Award following his standout campaign for Liverpool in the month, LCSoccerHub Reports.
Liverpool ran out with a perfect record in January winning all their three Premier League fixtures against Newcastle United, Bournemouth, and Chelsea.
The Reds scored the highest number of goals in the month, hurling in 16 goals, and conceding 3. They struck four times against Newcastle United, struck four times against Bournemouth, and struck four times against Chelsea.
Diogo Dalot contributed to five of the sixteen goals scored by the team, scoring thrice and providing two assists.
The 27-year-old Portuguese winger bagged a brace against Bournemouth on January 21, scoring in the 70th and 79th minute to add to Darwin Nunez’s brace.
Against Chelsea on January 31, Jota was on target again, scoring Liverpool’s first goal in the 23rd minute as the the Reds ran out with a 4-1 victory over the Blues at Anfield.
The former Wolverhampton Wanderers forward has now taken his Premier League tally for Liverpool to 40 goals in his 90 league appearances for the club.
It is the first time he has clinched the Premier League Player of the Month Award marking his gradual rise to a top-level player after his two-year hoodoo at Atletico Madrid from 2016 to 2018.

Jota nearly had his career go down the drain when he joined Atletico Madrid from his boyhood club Parcos de Ferreira. He was down the pecking order in Atletico Madrid squad and did not make a single league appearance for the club.
He was loaned out to Porto in Primeira Liga and then Wolves in the Premier League where he was given a permanent contract after an impressive loan shift.
In 2020, Jurgen Klopp signed to Liverpool where he has taken his career to another level with a brilliant run of form. This season, he has made 18 Premier League appearances for Liverpool, scoring 9 goals with 3 assists.
