Barcelona have secret deal with Newcastle star Bruno Guimaraes; FFP forces Magpies to sell

Newcastle face the risk of losing some of their best players this month, according to recent reports. Bruno Guimaraes, the Brazilian midfielder, is among the top targets for other clubs.

On Friday, Eddie Howe admitted that he could not guarantee the future of any of his key players. He said that the Premier League and UEFA finance rules put a lot of pressure on the club.

“In football, you can never tell what is going to happen. So I can’t offer any assurance on [not selling Guimaraes and others]. That would be the case regardless of our Financial Fair Play situation or financial situation,” Howe said in a press conference.

Guimaraes joined Newcastle in January 2022 for £40m. He has been a star performer for the North East club, scoring 11 goals and providing nine assists in 86 games.

Sportsbible reported earlier that Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona are keen on signing Guimaraes.

PSG are ready to pay the £100m release clause in his contract in three instalments, according to the report.

However, Guimaraes prefers a move to LaLiga. A shocking report claims that he has a secret deal with Barcelona.

The reports claim that Guimaraes has a deal with Newcastle that allows him to join Barcelona or Real Madrid.

That means that Newcastle have to accept a lower fee than his £100m release clause if either of the Spanish clubs make an offer.

Newcastle have an advantage, though. Barcelona are struggling financially at the moment.

They want to include some of their players in the deal for Guimaraes. They hope to make the total value of the deal €80m (approx, £68.7m).

The report also says that Newcastle may have to sell some of their stars in the next few months. But they will not sell Guimaraes this month. He will only leave in the summer.

Barcelona may still try to tempt Newcastle with a swap deal for Guimaraes this month. PSG may also make an offer for him.
