Arsenal got their revenge on West Ham United with a stunning 6-0 victory at the London Stadium on Sunday, keeping pace with the Premier League leaders. The Gunners were in a rampant mood as they scored four goals in the first half and two more in the second half, leaving the hosts shell-shocked and humiliated.
The visitors opened the scoring in the 12th minute when defender William Saliba headed in a corner from former West Ham midfielder Declan Rice, who had a superb game against his old club. Rice then turned provider for the second goal, as he played a brilliant through ball for Bukayo Saka, who slotted past Alphonse Areola in the 23rd minute.
Arsenal continued to dominate the game and added two more goals before the break. In the 34th minute, Gabriel rose highest to nod in another corner from Rice, and in the 43rd minute, Leandro Trossard capped off a slick passing move with a low shot into the bottom corner.

The second half was more of the same, as Arsenal showed no mercy to their hapless opponents. Saka scored his second goal of the game in the 52nd minute, after a clever one-two with Martin Odegaard. Rice then completed the rout in the 68th minute, as he unleashed a powerful strike from 25 yards out, beating Areola for the sixth time.
It was a sublime display by Arsenal, who matched Manchester City’s 52 points, but remained third on goal difference. Liverpool were still on top with 54 points. Arsenal had wasted many chances in their 2-0 defeat to West Ham in December, but this time they were clinical and confident. They also outplayed West Ham in the League Cup earlier this season.
