Manchester United rolled back their dismal domestic run this season to edge out Liverpool in the quarterfinals of the FA Cup.
Hosting the Merseyside club at Old Trafford, the Red Devils went into the game as underdogs with a screeching and less convincing campaign this term.
Liverpool were right on gears to get the job done, with their prolific goalscoring spree that has driven them close and keep them in the lane for the historic quadruple.
It was a cracker as the two sides locked horns. Manchester United took the lead 10 minutes into the game through Scott McTominay.

Like patient lions waiting for the right time to pound, Liverpool brought their attacking and goalscoring prowess to the bear just at the stroke of halftime.
A quickfire double by the visitors through Mac Allister and Mohamed Salah overturned the game in a flash. The two quick goals were enough to hand the Reds a 2-1 lead at the break.
Manchester United were close to the brink of exiting the competition as they could not find an equaliser until three minutes from regulation time when Antony scored his first goal for the season to hand the Red Devils a much-needed equaliser.
The goal was enough to drag the game to extra time. In the 105th minute, Harvey Elliot raced Liverpool into the lead again but United fought back eight minutes from time to equalise again through Marcus Rashford.
The game nearly went into penalties before Amad Diallo scored in stoppage-time of the extra time to hand United an unlikely victory.
It was a final blow to Liverpool’s quadruple hopes as they crashed out of the competition, settling for a 4-3 defeat in the seven-goal thriller.
