Liverpool are set to sweat with the injury of Diogo Jota and Curtis Jones following medical assessment, LCSoccerHub Reports.
Diogo Jota and Curtis Jones made the cut of the triple injury blow that rocked Liverpool during their 4-1 Premier League victory over Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium.
Diogo Jota, Curtis Jones, and Darwin Nunez were subbed off the game prematurely. Jota was withdrawn on a stretcher with an apparent knee issue while Curtis Jones limped off with a knock.
The two players could not make it to the break and had to be withdrawn in the first half while Darwin Nunez was subbed off at the break due to a muscle issue.
According to a report shared by Daily Mail, scans on Diogo Jota and Curtis Jones has revealed the pair sustained significant injury damages and will not be available for the EFL Cup final clash against Chelsea on February 24.
Meanwhile, further tests are expected to be conducted to estimate their timelines of return after rehabilitation and treatment.
Diogo Jota and Curtis Jones have been key in Jurgen Klopp Liverpool’s push for a historic quadruple this season. Missing the pair in the EFL Cup final showdown against Chelsea is a big blow to the team.
Klopp will also miss key Liverpool stars such as Trent Alexander-Arnold, who aggravated his knee injury before the game against Brentford and will face another lengthy injury layoff.
Darwin Nunez is also set to be a doubt for the game. Alisson Becker is battling with a hamstring issue and will also miss the clash including Thiago Alcantara, Stefan Bajcetic, Szosboszlai, and Ben Doak.
Jurgen Klopp, who eased pass Chelsea in a recent Premier League fixture, will hope to repeat the feat at Wembley with his iniury-ravagad squad.
