Premier League and European giants Manchester City are in the race to sign Kylian Mbappe from PSG, LCSoccerHub Reports.
The star-studded City side, brimming with some of the finest legs of the game and promising youngsters, are reportedly interested in adding the PSG talisman to the Etihad outfit.
Unlike other clubs who have openly spoken about their interest in Kylian Mbappe, Manchester City have decided to keep their pursuit of the player under wraps.
According to Cadena SER, Manchester City officials met Mbappe’s representatives on Monday, February 12 to discuss a possible move for the player.
LCSoccerHub learned the meeting was unofficial and discussions between the two camps were kept from the prying eyes of the media.
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is among the few managers who have talked less about Kylian Mbappe.
Although expressing his admiration for the player, Guardiola has kept City far off Mbappe’s transfer saga. Meanwhile, his Premier League rivals, Liverpool and Arsenal, have opened up on links to Kylian Mbappe.
Jurgen Klopp and Mikel Arteta have refused to rule out a move for Mbappe with Liverpool and Arsenal emerging as the two Premier League clubs strongly linked with the player.
While Arsenal and Liverpool are on the radar, Real Madrid have been touted as favorites to sign Kylian Mbappe given their long-standing interest in the player and their relatively superior competitive edge compared to other suitors.
However, the entrance of Manchester City into the race for the player could be a deal-breaker. The Premier League giants are also regarded as one of the strongest football projects in Europe now and have all it takes to lure Mbappe to Etihad.
The jarring of muscles by Man City and Real Madrid in the move for Kylian Mbappe may play little role in Mbappe’s next stop with the player free to choose his next destination.
