Trent Alexander-Arnold is is set to miss weeks of action for Liverpool in another injury blow to the club, LCSoccerHub Reports.
It is the second time Liverpool have to grapple with Alexander-Arnold’s injury in less than two months. Arnold saw his smooth-running stint the Reds grind to a halt in January when he suffered a damage to his ligament.
He was off action for three weeks before returning in January 27. Since his return, the England right-back has made four appearances for the Reds. His was cautiously used as a substitute in his first two matches before a full minute against Arsenal.
Against Wolves in his fourth appearance, Arnold could only play for 45 minutes and was subbed off in the second half with Jurgen Klopp confirming he has aggravated the injury.
“He felt (discomfort) in the same area in the knee. He got it stuck in the grass,” Klopp said after the match against Wolves.
According to Daily Mail, Alexander-Arnold is set to miss five weeks of action for the Reds following the fresh injury blow. He will miss a number of Premier League matches including the EFL Cup final against Chelsea at Wembley on February 25.
While Trent Alexander-Arnold is set for another spell on the sidelines, depleting Jurgen Klopp’s options at the right-back, the team have received a major injury boost in the return of Mohamed Salah. Salah picked up a hamstring issue in 2023 AFCON and has been sidelined for weeks but is now back to training with reports he could be available for selection when the Reds travel to take on Brentford in their next Premier League fixture.
Meanwhile, Jurgen Klopp will have two more right-back options Conor Bradley and Sergio Gomez to stand in for Arnold.
There is no fixed return timeline for Alexander-Arnold but there are estimations he could be back to action in Liverpool’s reverse Premier League fixture against Manchester City on March 10.
