Facundo Pellistri made a sparkling appearance for Granada in a crucial La Liga tie against Barcelona at the Olimpico stadium, LCSoccerHub Reports.
Manchester United loanee stole the spotlights with a brilliant and sensational individual performance that has got tongues wagging.
From his stealthy moves, and crisp and faultless passes to assisting and finding the back of the net, Pellistri won the hearts of football fans with United fans already asking for his return at the end of the season.
The Montevideo-born Uruguayan right winger was everywhere at the Olimpico stadium as Granada fought Barcelona to a standstill in a six-goal thriller in La Liga.
Lamine Yamal had gave Barcelona the lead in the 14th minute before the visitors clawed their way back into the game two minutes before the break. Facundo Pellistri recorded his first goal contribution in the game, providing the crazy assist that saw Sanchez bring Granada level.
In the second half, clutch Pellistri found the back of the net to cap a scintillating individual performance and catapult Granada into the lead. Barcelona would go ahead to equalise twice through Robert Lewandowski and Lamine Yamal but Pellistri’s standout performance for Granada was thrust to the spotlights.
The 22-year-old was obviously crucial to Granada’s near-victory against the La Liga champions with his assist and goal in the match.
United fans have already gone nostalgic for the Uruguayan sensation and are already asking him back to Old Trafford.
A fan wrote, “We can’t wait to have you back.”
Another fan said, “Pellistri is still a better option than Antony.”
Another said, “What a brilliant performance. Mate literally ruled the game against Barcelona.”
Pellistri joined Manchester United on October 5, 2020, from Penarol for £9m. He had struggled to nail down a regular spot in Manchester United’s first team. Throughout his four seasons at the club, he has managed only 13 Premier League appearances and has spent a huge chunk of his Old Trafford career on loan.
Granada is his second loan stop after a similar stint with another La Liga side Alaves from 2021 to 2022. He has 22 months left on his Manchester United and could return to the club at the end of his short-term loan deal with Granada.

Look at the way barcelona players keep fouling Facundo pellistri because he's just dancing around them with the ball. See the way pellistri easily wins possession from the opponents. That's one thing garnacho lacks so far. #Facundo pic.twitter.com/6KZg4KhvBL
