Armando Broja has joined Fulham on a short-term loan deal till the end of the season. Broja, 22, has seen his Chelsea fortunes go down the wires following his return from a lengthy injury layoff.
He has made 19 appearances for the club this season with only 3 starts. Chelsea wanted to sell the English-born Albania international. Slamming a £50m price tag on the player, the Blues ran out of bidders for Broja. West London neighbors, Fulham, who were interested in a move for Broja, wanted a loan deal for the player with no buy option.
Chelsea previously hung in on their decision for outright sale but were forced to soften their stance as the transfer window winds down with only Fulham left on the negotiation table for the player.
The Blues finally agreed to a loan move for the player but were stuck again on the loan fee for the 22-year-old. Fulham made a £4m loan offer for Broja but were turned down by the Blues, who wanted £5m.

Chelsea, who initially refused to peck down the loan fee for the Cottagers were finally forced to agree to the £4m offer allowing Fulham to sign the player till the end of the season.
Broja has struggled for minutes since signing his first professional contract with the Blues in February 2020. Throughout his three seasons with Chelsea, he has managed only 26 Premier League appearances and has spent the rest of his Chelsea career on loan to different clubs.
In the 2020/21 season, Broja, then a 19-year-old youngster fresh from the academy, was loaned to Dutch club Vitesse where he made 30 Eredivisie appearances, scoring 10 goals to finish as joint-topscorer in the Dutch elite division.
After his Vitesse loan spell, Broja was again loaned to Southampton in the 2021/22 season. He made 36 appearances for the Saints, scoring 6 goals. After the loan stint with Southampton, Broja returned from Chelsea to fight for his place in the 2022/23 season, he suffered a devastating knee injury while in action in a club friendly against Aston Villa during the international break before the 2022 World Cup.
His season ended automatically with the injury. Under new Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino, Broja is still struggling to cement his place in the Blues’ squad.
He has four years remaining on his Chelsea contract, having penned down a six-year contract with the club in 2022. However, Chelsea are open to offloading him permanently should they receive an offer for the player.
