Ederson has been crowned 2023 Best FIFA Men’s Goalkeeper of the Year after a prolific campaign with Manchester City, LCSoccerHub Reports.
The Brazilian shot-stopper was Manchester City’s first-choice goalkeeper, keeping the sticks for the Citizens in a triumphant domestic and European run. The 30-year-old helped City stormed through domestic and European competitions, raking in their first treble of a major domestic cup, league championship, and European title.
The Cityzens became the second Premier League club to win a treble after Manchester United achieved the feat in 1998/99 season.
After the landmark campaign, Ederson helped Manchester City add more laurels to their trophy room, winning the UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup.

The 30-year-old became the 17th Premier League goalkeeper to register 100 clean sheets after he recorded an additional 11 clean sheets for Manchester City in the 2022/23 season.
Ederson was a top favorite to bag the award over his two other nominees Yassine Bounou of Morocco and Thibaut Courtois of Real Madrid.

Yassine Bounou kept the sticks for the Atlas Lions of Morocco as the team broke record reaching the last four of the World Cup. Thibaut Courtois won the UEFA Nations League with Spain.
While the two finalists deservedly made the final three-man shortlist, Ederson’s heroics with Manchester City last season, from the sprawling Premier League saves to magical and sparking Champions League performances, made the Brazilian an unrivaled favorite for the award.
His most memorable performance was denying Belgian forward Romelu Lukaku a close header in the Champions League final.
